GMC SONOMA 4WD CREW CAB - PROFESSIONAL
GRADE PICKUPS WITH BIG-TRUCK CAPABILITY
Professional Grade capabilities like
maximum trailering of 5,200 pounds (2,358 kg) and two-tier loading
define the GMC Sonoma 4WD Crew Cab, the versatile model that is
Sonoma's sole configuration for 2004. Sonoma offers an impressive
list of standard features and interior amenities, plus a powerful
yet economical powertrain and heavy-duty suspension.
Plenty of horsepower and torque
The Vortec 4300 4.3L V-6 engine delivers 190 horsepower (142 kw)
and 250 lb.-ft. (339 Nm) of torque in the Sonoma 4WD Crew Cab.
It uses a multi-port fuel-injection system featuring a fuel injector
that delivers a separate flow of fuel to six individual hybrid
injectors for better performance and improved emissions.
Unlike many other V-6 engines on
the market, the Vortec features roller rocker arms, a roller timing
chain, a powdered-metal timing chain sprocket and a number of
extended-life features. These include platinum-tip spark plugs
with a recommended change interval of up to 100,000 miles (160,934
km), precise engine timing, extended-life engine coolant designed
to last up to 150,000 miles (241,402 km) and a single accessory
drive belt. The ultra-smooth four-speed electronic automatic transmission
with overdrive is standard and delivers surprisingly refined highway
cruising.
Insta-Trac 4WD system
The Insta-Trac four-wheel-drive system, allowing push-button four-wheel
drive, is standard. Insta-Trac makes it easy to shift into and
out of four-wheel drive without leaving the cab, providing shift-on-the-fly
capability and including a 4-LOW mode for more pulling power at
low speeds in difficult situations such as mud or steep grades.
Couple those features with a wheelbase
of 122.9 inches (3,122 mm) and a maximum payload of a hefty 1,067
pounds (484 kg), and the Sonoma 4WD Crew Cab offers both surprising
handling and hauling capabilities.
Plenty of features
The 2004 Sonoma 4WD Crew Cab comes well equipped. Its list of
standard equipment includes a bedliner, front bucket seats, air
conditioning, driver and passenger air bags, anti-lock brakes,
PASSLock theft-deterrent system and daytime running lamps.
Inside, delayed interior lighting
keeps the dome lamp lit for 15 seconds or until the ignition is
turned on after closing the front doors. The stereo, power windows
and other power options remain active for as long as 20 minutes
after the ignition is turned off or a door is open, thanks to
the retained accessory power feature. And, a six-disc CD changer
is available.
Sonoma features a welded steel frame,
hot-dipped steel and two-sided galvanized steel on strategic panels
for durability, for added strength and rust and corrosion resistance.
Optional features include heated
reclining seats in leather trim with power lumbar support adjuster,
six-disc in-dash CD changer and automatic locking rear differential.
Plus, with a host of GM Accessories such as bed rails, hard and
soft tonneau covers, trailer hitch and bed extender, Sonoma for
2004 offers plenty of personalization for a wide variety of customers.
SportRider model
And finally, the accessorized Sonoma ZR5 SportRider model for
2004 offers even more versatility and sporty style. Standard features
in the $1,300 ZR5 package include unique 15-inch aluminum wheels
with sparkle silver accents, a brushed aluminum roof rack, bed
rails, side steps and special ZR5 decals. A deluxe tonneau cover
with a unique, self-storing design that rolls up neatly against
the cab when not in use is also available.
